Cafe Kichi: the sometimes ending theme

  • Feb. 8th, 2009 at 12:17 PM
Minagawa aloha
SotoNote: [info]shiroi_ume and I tried to decipher the meaning of the song that sometimes plays at the end of Cafe Kichijyouji de tracks (I listened to [The strongest is mother], WW8). For the most part I think we got the right words, but the second verse is rather iffy (ノД`;;) Anyway, we tried.

いつか二人でいて
あの昨日の思いは
今もまだ静かに
ずっと変わることなく
待っていてくれるよ

どんな時でも同じ
気持ちでいたから
無くしたくはないから
風に揺れるまちを
手を繋いで行こう

itsuka futari de ite
ano kinou no omoi ha
ima mo mada shizuka ni
zutto kawaru koto naku
matte ite kureru yo

donna toki demo onaji
kimochi de ita kara
nakusitaku ha nai kara
kaze ni yureru machi wo
te wo tsunaide yukou

Someday the two of us will be together
And the memory of that yesterday
even now, quietly,
ever-unchanging,
will wait for us

No matter when, we always
felt the same
So we didn't want to lose it,
the town waving in the wind
Let's go, hands joined

Ah wow! Thank you so much for translating it! I'm not an expert in the Japanese language by any means, but your translation flows so well. I really appreciate you taking the time to translate it; I apologize if it was troublesome for you. I really wish I could have been more help.

It wasn't troublesome at all! I needed a break from squinting at tiny little text (^_^) And thank you for sending me the lyrics you heard. It helped make sense of the last line, especially
